COVER Home Repair

Homes always need repairs but not everyone can afford it. Sometimes friends and family can come to the rescue but when they don't...un-resolved problems create many undesirable issues: high heating bills, accelerating disrepair, and the declining health and comfort level of the people living there. In the Upper Valley, old houses and mobile homes, harsh winters and high proportions of low-income residents can present home owners with home repair issues that are beyond their ability to fix.

COVER completes more than 40 urgent home repair projects each year. We focus on repairs that improve the home's ability to provide a safe, comfortable and healthy environment for its inhabitants. Roof repair, wheel chair ramp construction, structural floor repair and weatherization are common projects. To complete, projects average cost is $500 for materials and two full Volunteer crew days, working 9:00am to 5:00pm.
COVER, with your help, can work with the homeowners to save their home. In addition to fixing these problems, COVER can prevent a home from being condemned by making sure it meets federal Weatherization Assistance Program's health and safety guidelines.

COVER Home Repair accepts requests (through referrals from agencies or directly from applicants) from families and individuals who own their homes. These requests are evaluated based on five Project Criteria.
